SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE

Stay Warm in Style is not only about style and fashion, it’s also about enriching the lives of underprivileged children through our proceeds. Growing up in Colombia we have witnessed poverty and the devastating effects of war in neglected communities. It’s our responsibility to lay a helping hand to those in need.

We have partnered with La Cigarra, a non-profit that supports approximately 300 families who are seeking to make their way out of poverty. At the heart of this nonprofit organization is a daycare center for around 170 children, aged 6 months to 5 years old, and an after school program for children up to 18 years old. Beyond that, in association with governmental and private groups, La Cigarra also provides social services to the community, including preventive and primary health care, housing and community development, and a variety of other services.

La Cigarra

La Cigarra endeavors to become a symbol of hope for some of the most disadvantaged citizens in Colombia. The name “Cigarra” reflects this hope: it is the Spanish word for “Cicada,” an insect that lives most of its life underground but eventually emerges into sunlight to complete its life cycle. A portion of every sale from Stay Warm in Style, goes toward the expansion of the day care building.

With each purchase, you provide first-hand help with this amazing project while uplifting these strong, albeit underprivileged families.

Stay Warm in Style  is passionate about getting involved and donating our time to animals. Since 2017, we partnered with the 501(c)3 nonprofit Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County.

By contributing our time and resources to the Humane Society we have impacted the lives of countless animals. Each week a Stay Warm in Style team member donates their time to assisting and caring for the animals. Every month, we contribute our resources and donate money to supporting an animal in need.

The Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County is the state’s largest animal welfare agency. They strive to find loving homes for more than 6,000 pets a year, reunite thousands of lost pests with their owners, provide medical care, and offer low cost spay-neuter programs.

We invite you to support the cause by volunteering, donating, adopting, and advocating for the welfare of pets in your community. To donate, please click the link: https://www.thehumanesociety.org/donate/
